Connection Group 06.20.2021

Know God, make friends, find support for your life.

The reason for eerything we are doing is the love of God manifested through the death of Jesus Christ for our sins and His resurrection to give us eternal life.

Suggestions. Take time to greet each other and to meet any new people. Share coffee and dessert while you are having the “lesson.”

Part 1. Sunday’s message given by pastor Isiah Tarlton, and it was based on several events in David’s life (for example, 1 Samuel 16:10-11) and on Psalm 91:1-4.

  1. A father must protect his family, something that Jesse appears not to have done for David.
  2. God is our large shield and our portable shield (a point based on Psalm 91:4).

Part 2. Read the following questions. After reading them, allow the participants who wish to respond to answer the questions they wish to answer in the order they wish to answer them.

In what way was Sunday’s message relevant to God’s people and Christ’s follower? What relevance did this message have for your life, relationship with God, and service to God?

Part 3. Read the following questions. After reading them, allow the participants who wish to respond to answer the questions they wish to answer in the order they wish to answer them. The rest can respond to the participants or pray for them as the Spirit of Christ* guides them. (*In other words, their responses mus be compatible with the doctrine of Christ)

In general, what challenges and difficulties are fathers facing today? What challenges and difficulties are the fathers in our congregation facing? How can we suppor the fathers in our congregation?

Part 4.
