Know God, make friends, and find support for your life

The basis of all we are doing is the love of God manifested through the death of Jesus Christ for our sins and His resurrection to give us eternal life.

Suggestions. Take time to greet each other and to meet any new people. Share coffee and dessert while you are having the “lesson.”

Part 1. Sunday’s message is based on 1 Corinthians 9:1-26. The following points were discussed:

  1. It is inevitable that a minister of God’s word receive criticism.
  2. The Lord has commanded the churches to financially support those who minister the word.
  3. The minister must minister the word to serve the Lord and His people, not to make money.
  4. The minister must be considerate of the needs and customs of those to whom he ministers.
  5. The minister and the church must faithfully serve the Lord to receive the Lord’s approval.

Part 2. Read the following questions. After reading them, allow the participants who wish to respond to answer the questions they wish to answer in the order they wish to answer them.

In what way is the was this Sunday’s message relevant to the people of God and to the follower of Christ? What relevance does this message have for your life, your relationship with God, and your service to God?

Part 3. Read the following questions. After reading them, allow the participants who wish to respond to answer the questions they wish to answer in the order they wish to answer them. The rest can respond to the participants or pray for them as the Spirit of Christ* guides them. (*In other words, their responses mus be compatible with the doctrine of Christ)

What challenges or difficulties are you facing in your life? ¿How is this situation getting worse or better? What do you believe God expects of you through this situation? What do you need from God?

Part 4.

What are you enjoying in life? ¿How is this impacting your life? ¿What do you think God wants for you in all of this? ¿What do you believe God wants from you in all of this?

Parte 5. As the Holy Spirit guides you, take turns to pray for the ministry of the church and the needs of its members.
